Principles
We advocate a principled approach to evaluating solutions and making design decisions. Throughout these guidelines we will show how the patterns and constructs described here are based on the following principles.
Principles
- Keep it simple (clean, efficient, uncluttered)
- Make it intuitive (discoverable and obvious)
- Inspire delight & innovate (wow factor!, motion design, micro interaction, modern & cool)
- Focus on users (work and task flows, contextual constraints)
- Establish clear visual hierarchy that maps to the underlying mental model
- Appropriate use of motion design
- Progressive disclosure
- Provide controls when and where you need them
